Our story starts a long, long time ago. I grew up on a farm surrounded by animals and dreamed of becoming a veterinarian. Like many childhood dreams, life took me down a different path—but one thing never changed: dogs have always been a part of my life.

Fast forward to the day I found Charlie. I first saw her online through the Kansas City Pound, and her soulful eyes immediately captured my heart. She was later transferred to Melissa’s Menagerie, a local animal shelter, and that’s where I finally met her. The moment we connected, I knew we were meant to be best friends.

I fostered her and quickly realized I could never let her go—so I adopted her. Her name is Charlie, a special nod to my own name, Kelly. My dad named me after Charlie’s Angels, and Charlie has truly become my angel, just as I am hers.

Charlie reignited my passion for pups. She has faced many health issues and anxieties, and I always worried about her well-being. Like so many pet parents, I became extra particular about who I trusted to care for her. After all, we are the only protection and voice our companions have.

Unfortunately, Charlie never did well in a typical grooming environment—too noisy, too busy, too stressful mentally and physically, and often not the cleanest or most calming place for sensitive dogs. That experience lit a fire in me. I wanted to create a better option—not just for Charlie, but for every dog.

So, I did my research. I attended a Kansas-licensed secondary school for dog grooming, where I studied dog anatomy, behavior, health, safety, grooming techniques, and even Pet CPR. Once I became certified, I poured my heart into designing and building a dog spa that feels different—one where every dog can feel safe, calm, and loved.
